Mary Catherine McMasters from North Carolina

Still stuck.

It's a year later and we still haven't connected the dots to determine where in North Carolina the Evans are from.  We have hunches... but nothing solid, yet.

Still we Search Sisters are pleased with how the story of Kate aka. Mary Catherine Evans Allison has unfolded.  We started with only a name and a photo of our great grandmother. Now we know Kate, was born in Arkansas in 1856. We not only have a sense of who our great grandmother was, but also the cloud of kin that surrounded her. We have taken her story back back two generations and and have traced a journey of thousands of miles discovering the Evans migration from Carolina to Texas. It's a long journey with a lot of chapters.

We are sure the name of Kate's parents are William M Evans 1815 born in North Carolina and Aimey F. Landers 1824 born in Georgia.  Evans.... where exactly in North Carolina do our Evans come from?

Kate's mother-in-law Mary Catherine McMasters b 1899  according to our discoveries is buried in the Reaves Family Cemetery in Warren, Arkansas in Bradley County. There is a passel of Landers, Evans and Busseys buried there as well.

We know where her body is buried.  We have clues she lived in  Mississippi....  She   married and had her first children in North Carolina in  Elizabeth M Evans 1812,
James Felix Evans 1813, William M Evans 1815.

Where in North Carolina?
The state is littered with Evans...
But, McMasters, not so many.
Felix is an odd name. That makes searching simpler.

Stella pulls up a record. Felix McMasters, Bladen County NC.

Could he be our relative?

What are the odds?
